-- ROOTED STOCK ROM

The first ROM that I tried was the PreROOTED stock ROM of the A5, which has been linked in the first post in that thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788936 ). The  flashing seemed to go flawlessly, but after the reboot, I was left with a non Karbonn boot screen that wouldn't go away. Considering the attempt a failure, I rebooted and did a restore of the previous setup. The reboot showed that the Karbonn boot screen had not been reverted to, eventhough the rest of the system was back.

A little poking around revealed that the splash.img file is the one that contains the boot image, and since the CWM backup doesn't save the splash.img, the boot image of the failed flashing remained. The way to get back the Karbonn screen was with the use of fastboot commands, which I was not too keen to learn yet.

My Suggestion : AVOID
